Evaluating Your Promotion with Google Data Studio Report [Template]

Internal promotions are the promotion of your products on the eCommerce store. Using Google Data Studio (now Looker Studio) report templates, you can track how many users clicked on these promotions, see the number of impressions, their click-through rate, and how many people ultimately made a purchase after clicking on the promotion.

In this short blog post, we prepared the Internal Banners Performance Overview report that shows the metrics to evaluate Internal Promotions. All the metrics are clustered based on their location in the conversion funnel:

  • Viewability: Promotion Views (aka Impressions)
  • Engagement: Clicks and CTR (click-through-rate)
  • Micro Conversion: Leads and Leads CVR
  • Macro Conversion: Revenue and Transactions, attributed to Internal Promotions, as well as Revenue per Click

The report is ideal for sites that run heavy internal promotions (including publishing as it can be tied to ad revenue) to analyze what promotions, on which pages, depending on their position generate the most value.
